Discover Dimension Strategies

Sandra (nonprofit leader)
Sandra worked with us from 2007 to 2008. She came to us not sure what she wanted to do with her career, but she knew she loved nonprofit work. We helped her identify her goals, create a plan, and achieve results. Within a few months she was enrolled in a local Master’s Degree program at Seattle University for Nonprofit Leadership.
We helped Sandra find an internship and develop relationships with local charities and organizations that interested her. By the time she finished her Master’s Degree she had a job lined up at an international nonprofit doing exactly what she wanted to do. It took commitment, resources, and time, but it paid off in the end. Today Sandra is a Director of Public Relations at a growing nonprofit organization.
Roger (student)
Roger was the perpetual forever student. He took nearly 8 years to finish his degree. By the time he called us he was ready to move on with his life. Unfortunately, his 8 years of college had not prepared him for any work that he wanted to actually do. All he had done was sales at local clothing, sales, and furniture shops, and he wanted more than that with his life.
We helped Roger clarify his goals, set some objectives, and build a plan to reach success. Within a few weeks of working with us, he was enrolled in a Certificate Degree program at the University of Washington that was affordable and that took less than a year to complete. We also helped him look for and find work getting basic office skills that would also pay the bills. Soon he had developed a strong work track record and had a certificate in a field of study that was very real-world based.
Kyle (career discovery)
Kyle was a wandering free spirit who loved to study foreign languages and explore the world. By the time he was 30 he had lived on nearly every continent and thoroughly studied Arabic, Persian, and Mandarin. But he wanted to find a way to link his passion for traveling and languages with some real world and practical endeavors. When he came to us, he had already joined the Air Force as a linguist and was planning to get the high quality language training available to such specialists.
We helped Kyle make a plan for achieving his goals after he left the Air Force. We encouraged him to look into graduate school (since the military would pay for it). He found a great international MBA program at a nearby university and enrolled in the executive program. It took him two years of hard struggle and much sacrifice, but by the time he had finished his service to the Air Force he also had a quality MBA-degree from a solid program. He is now studying for his Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) exams and has found work with an international consulting organization doing work in the Middle East.
Jack (executive coaching)
Jack was a successful executive at a public company. When he came to us, his company was having trouble creating a business strategy that united the different divisions he was responsible for. He had so many big personalities and eccentric employees at his company that he really struggled to find ways to unify people. He felt his employees did not respect him or his authority and he was frustrated that he could not get his agendas done.
We helped Jack prepare a plan to take back control of his organization. First he set out boundaries, then laid out layers of control and metrics to follow, then he followed a plan that followed up on defined objectives on a regular basis. Jack found that by being consistent and clear with his priorities that his employees would know what to do for him. We advised Jack all along the process and helped him succeed in gaining the trust and confidence of his organization.
